I’m just sick and tired of people trying to be entrepreneurs complaining about the lack of funds to get their ideas going.

I’m tired of everyone saying I want to do this or that but can’t find the money to do it.

Really? You don’t have the money? Are you alright with what you are saying?

No! I don’t think you understand. Because if you know what entrepreneurship is all about, you won’t say those words.

Why? Because part of being an entrepreneur is your ability to overcome the problem of funds to get started. If you can’t do that, then who are you?

Who’s an entrepreneur first of all

I’m not consulting the dictionary to explain what’s entrepreneurship. I’m doing that from my understanding of what it’s all about.

Entrepreneurship is problem-solving. I haven’t come across anyone who’s an entrepreneur that isn’t solving a problem. And I don’t care what service or product they are offering. They provide a solution to a particular situation, so they’re doing what it takes.

I don’t know anything that we can put under the word aside from problem-solving.

So, when I hear people who want to be entrepreneurs complain about the difficulty of getting funds to do what they ought to do, I ask myself; Who are these people? Do they understand what it means to be such a person?

Because of that difficulty of finding the money to start with your idea — that hurdle that people can overcome, that’s what tells they are entrepreneurs. In your case, if you can’t do it, then you aren’t an entrepreneur and don’t have to call yourself one.

How do you come about the funds to start with your idea? Where do you even start it?

These were the same questions bordering my mind when I decided to go into this world. My idea was to start an agro company, which I’ve created. But, did I come about the answers instantly? No! How did I come about it? It happened through deliberate thinking and learning from people already doing it. I read and study entrepreneurs to identify how they come about their funds to start.

While some pitched investors to raise their monies, most people worked to save for theirs.

In my case, I didn’t know any investor or entrepreneurship program to pitch my idea for funds. So, I had to take a job to save and raise the amount of money that, from my assessment, I’d need to start.

These are the two ways to raise funds to start on an idea. So, if you’re out there and want to be an entrepreneur and you can’t seem to know where to raise monies to get your thoughts going, look for people looking to invest in ideas and pitch them, or in your case if you’re like me who didn’t find anyone to help, get a job and save for it.

That’s how to start. It’s not complaining or whining because the whole concept is problem-solving. And if you can’t solve the first problem, which is how to raise funds, you can’t be an entrepreneur.

A humble beginning is the right way to do it

Why most of us can’t start with our ideas isn’t all that financial. Instead, we cannot see that everything has to start small.

It’s a problem, especially with millennials. We want everything to start big from the onset. We lack the patience to grow through the process.

And it’s because we live in an age where people can become successful overnight. It’s happening on the internet; we interpret it as life and success. So, if what we want to do doesn’t have the potential of overgrowing and becoming an overnight success, we use finance as an excuse not to do it.

We are unwilling to start small and allow things to grow. So if you want to be in this space and don’t have an immense amount of patience, you better not try because it’s what it takes most to succeed. It’s not money entirely as some of us perceive it and don’t start with what’s in our hands because of the belief that it’s small. It takes cash but to succeed; it doesn’t take money. Ask anyone in it, and they’ll tell you. It’s all hard work and perseverance.

Deciding to be an entrepreneur means choosing the unconventional way of life. With that, you must prepare to fight hard.

The reason? Unlike working at a job where you do what you have to do, this is about fixing problems, which entails a lot. It involves time, patient, and the mental toughness to deal with what comes with it.

The individual who’s into entrepreneurship but can’t find the courage to go against the narrative is bound to fail. Entrepreneurship is doing what others can’t do. It’s going against the tide.

When everyone sees the impossible, you have to see the opposite and develop new ideas and ways. It’s about making life easier for the masses and nothing else.
