What We Eat That We Are!
Food is the basis of our life. It affects our appearance, performance, and life expectancy.
Let's start with the Vedic ages!
Close your eyes & roll back yourself and remember Ramayana and Mahabharata serials. Remember how we were often glued to our black & white TV and that too with only one channel: Doordarshan telecasting the most sacred stories of India: Ramayana and Mahabharata?
In those times there were Asuras and there were Gods, saints, and humans. Asuras were flag bearers of darkness: demonic, evil, and Mayawai but powerful creatures who were infamous and fearful entities of that time, often portrayed with strong trunks & teeth and their nature was destructive and spreading evil power in the world but what they used to eat? Raw animals, blood even tasty appearing humans & saints. Were we shown Asuras eating raw fruits and vegetables or dairy products? No never.
On the contrary, what saints, flag bearers of dharma: cool composed, mantra chanters, righteous, not physically active but not physically powerful as Asuras, used to have: Vegetarian foods, dairy products, home food, etc.
So you must be understood by now since ancient times there have been always concepts relating food to nature, appearances, performances, activities, etc of people.
So Logic no.1: Vedic Scriptures tell you
Now open your eyes and come back to the modern world!
Forget what was Ravaana's diet plan: It was butter chicken or Roasted men with extra salt & garam masala does not matter to us.
come to “new times”.
So you do not have much success with girls and want to have a GF? then the easiest way is to go for six-pack abs (not my suggestion really but the world nowadays works like that ). The first thing that gym trainer tells you? Yes, motivational celebrity success stories and then hand over you a diet plan with some bottles of protein powder.
Run your eyes (I mean brain that does not use nowadays much in the social media world nowadays) around the world, everything is about the food we live on it and drink on it and earn on it. You are a sportsperson: eat more protein-based food, you have seating cubical office job: use more fiber to avoid constipation, you want to lose weight: cut out the carbs and do not eat after 7 p.m, you want to be healthy: avoid junk food and better start eating home Chawal, Maa ke hath ki Daal and blah blah blah till infinity.
Let me break down to justify the claim of the blog in a better way!
- Performance :
Biography and success stories of sportspersons have been always motivating and cherishing infinite possibilities of human beings, but in every story, there is one factor that is most common and that is the Diet plan of sportspersons.
Virat Kohli famously many times told the journey of his fitness and success. How he changed his diet: eliminated Indian oil-based food, cut out grains and went for the maze, how he cured no sugar in his diet which made him powerful, filled with stamina and speed but then, later in his career, he switched to a vegan diet as he wanted longevity.
Remember Novak Djokovic: the 21 times grand slam champion, how his inability to finish on top was attributed to his sluggish and tiring physicality in long-running matches, and how his then-new nutritionist made a small change of making his diet gluten-free. Novak attributes the discovery of his stamina and power to his diet.

A very different story is of a tribe of amazon: nomadic Awa who survive on Honey: Yes Honey only honey and that is not packed honey its raw and pure honey. Every person takes 1 liter or half of a Litter of honey daily in their food and what’s the result? They are capable of deeds that normal city boys cannot do . They are powerful, fast, ferocious, agile, and sharp. A similar story is with tribe Gurung tribe of Nepal, and the Kattunayakuns of Nilgiri who are wild honey hunters and are very ferocious and physically very natural.

Disclaimer: Don’t let these boys come near to your honey, after all, they are honey hunters. Ha ha …
I can sense some of you want me to talk about performance in bed but I will not let's keep it for another article its a promise
So Logic №2:
What you eat makes you perform accordingly.
2. Activities & timing :
Do not you steal a small nap during a job in lunch or did you notice? whenever you take full-stomach rice you often robbed the office timing. It happens at least with most of us, although in Japan: employees are motivated to take a small nap at noon. What a dream, if it happens in India's fingers, crossed :). So why it happens? Yes because of the nature of food: due to high GI food and releasing calming hormones such as melatonin and serotonin, you tend to be drowsy. Western science has brainwashed that every person needs 8–10 hrs day of sleep to be healthy but on contrary, there have been examples that establish that the intake of food directly affects these sleeping hours.
Let me brainwash you!
Famous Indian guru SADHGURU preaches that veggies and fruits often take significantly lesser hours than raw or cooked meat for digestion in the body. Remember: More time it takes in digestion more energy it will draw from your body and you will feel sluggish and sleepy so consequently, you will have a pattern of sleeping more no hours for recovery. The faster it gets digested faster you get the energy to spend on activities. Remember most of the time nonvegetarian animals are slower than vegetarians in long run. Remember the tribes we talked about, they sleep early and wake up early and are ferociously fast and ready for jobs.
So next time someone comes up with the philosophy that one-third of a lifetime we spent on sleeping then remind yourself that it's not the life it is you who chose it.

So Logic №3:
Eat Well, So Sleep Well, So Work Well!
3. Health issues :
A simple science: The more a food is processed more the natural enzymes for digestion die and so it will digest slower and will create additional toxins and antioxidants. This means it will make you sick. So the moral is the more you deep fry your chickens more harmful for the body. Processed food or packed food or any junk food is not easy to digest so maybe a burger or pizza you have eaten with so much joy a week ago maybe that is rotting in your intestine somewhere and praying for coming out of your body.
Now more toxins, and more issues in parts of the body, makes slower the organs functioning and invite diseases, and hence doctors and drug manufacturing companies are richer than we think. This can be emphasized on the basis of the report by the Global Panel on Agriculture and Food systems for nutrition (Glopan) that says poor diets are grooming greater health risks than alcohol, tobacco, drugs, and unsafe sex combined.

So Logic №4:
The more you eat Junk, the more you eat Tablets!
4. Genetics and hormones :
Believe it or not, our body is made of chemicals but yeah a complex one . Depending on Genes different body reacts in a different way. Food, at last, is made of chemicals too and when it gets digested or decomposed in the body releases different chemicals and hence hormones are released and the body gets affected. Your food habits decide your immunity and in case of any exposure to a different disease can affect you greatly.
A prime example of how wrong food selection can be deadly is the famous examples of extinction of many tribes, such as Jarawa in India, in the world who are no more due to changes in food dietary practices after coming in contact with the modern world. There are many serious health repercussions for Santhali and Pahariya tribes in India where agriculture practices have changed their daily Food platters.

There are enough reliable studies that completely establish the facts that food especially inflammatory foods can damage DNA, increase insulin resistance, and even can promote the growth of plagues in arteries.
So Logic №5:
Eating traditionally helps your survival!
So Good food can do wonders and bad food is a big blunder
5. Phycatiric Health :
An irrational thought: we are stressed after office so what to do? let’s go for puffing sutta or let’s have some round of Somras aka wish-key. Yes, it feels you high and relaxed and even sleep without tension. Because every intake in your body releases chemicals which are messages from the gut to your brain. Let's extend it to eating habits :
What study says? Protein food like beef chicken turkey paneer is linked to higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine brain chemicals which are quite a player in your mood, motivation, and concentration. Fruits and veggies high in vitamins and minerals have been shown to pump in your happiness. Similarly, the intake of junk food, and sugary food shows a jump in anxiety, depression, dementia, etc. Think how & why Bengalis of India has not yet only kept the tradition of Fish on their daily plate but also kept alive in their tradition (ChatGPT or google, you will learn more), yes because of Omega-III fatty acid that helps in growth and well functioning of your brain.
So Logic №6:
Poor Food, Poor Mood!
6. Life expectancy :
A Question: which animal has the highest life expectancy? Yeah, you are right it's Turtle. Why yes because this animal survives on seafood and that is too raw not junk food.
Conclusion:
very straight its food which can decrease life expectancy or increase it. Generally, people living in coastal areas have a higher life expectancy. This can be very much extra plotted to races or continents or countries. Truthfully they live longer if they eat healthier.
So yes our food is the basis of our life. It affects our appearance, performance, and life expectancy. Psychiatric, activities, and many other aspects of life. Thank you for reading.
