For the past few days, I have been following the news and I have never been that entertained and disappointed at the same time. Donald Trump’s refusal to accept his defeat graciously is difficult to watch. The Bidden-Harris win constituted more than 50% of the votes, but this didn’t go down well with Trump.

Whatever you are trying, to clear an exam, land a job, raise funds or even win an election, there comes a moment in life when you have to walk away from the game with the fight still in your heart. Here, by no means I am saying that winning is not important. It sure is. But you can’t win every time in everything. That’s life. It is designed to make winners and losers out of everyone. And of course, failure is a good teacher and you can learn from it.

The first and foremost lesson is acceptance. When you don’t reach your desired goal even after your last attempt with everything you had, you can either shout and cry, or nod and accept. In either of the cases, no one would appreciate the fact that you gave it your all but you still can. Ultimately, you live for yourself.

You also learn to leave it on the court and not carry your loss everywhere. Why? Because every loss is personal and the world doesn’t really care about how unfair the system is. And that’s fair as it applies to everyone. The loss will surely compel to have razor-focus on reaching your goal the next time.

Lastly, you will discover that taking emotions out of the equation is a necessary element for success. You will discover that most people don’t care about your success either.

The best you can do is try your best with everything you have.
