What Values Do You Share With Your Friends?

Yesterday I was on the phone with a girlfriend, who had just met another friend of mine. She asked me: ‘How could you be friends? You are so different.’

That question surprised me.

Every friendship is a part of our story. We all change, we move to another country, find new jobs, and we slowly lose contact with some friends. Our lives take us somewhere else.

It is sad, but it happens to everyone.

Yet, my past and present friends share my same values: respect for the others and for their choices, humility, desire to improve and learn. We all try to become better persons.

All the people who were close to me still have the same values, even if we lost each other. They are still my friends.
