What To Do When Your Friend Is Under Investigation

Yesterday, my friend went missing (from Medium).

I think that we all agree that one of the best things about Medium is the community that we build here. We have here an opportunity to build genuine connections with others. Friendships develop.

I have a few people here that I consider friends. We don’t know each other “IRL”, but I know that I have their constant support and I depend on them for little rays of sunshine throughout the day.

I love reading their work, and I feel happy when I see their name come up in my notifications.

Yesterday, something terrible happened.

I went to respond to a comment by one of my Medium friends, the wonderful Brandon Springer, and instead, I found this:

Can I help my friend? Can I send Medium support an email and tell them that there has definitely been some sort of mistake?

I know this has happened to many people, and it is usually corrected pretty quickly. I remember when Carl Jeffers disappeared for a day, and he’s back.

I was hoping to see Brandon back again this morning, but instead, I’m writing this article.

Hope he is back soon. Who else will leave snarky yet supportive comments on all my articles?

HOLY CRAP RYAN CANADY IS GONE TOO.

I just went to ask Ryan and Ross Derbyshire if they thought we could do anything and discovered the same error for Ryan.

Someone tell me this will all be fixed soon.

I need my friends back.
