What to Do When It Feels Like the World Is Against You
7 simple strategies to feel more hopeful about the future.

We all go through days and stages in life where things get a little difficult. One problem after another and you feel like the world is against you. We try to keep track, but the harder we try, the worse the situation gets and the more problems we have.
You become increasingly worried, to the point where you can’t sleep.
Now you not only have to deal with many problems, but also with fatigue due to lack of sleep.
This will make you restless and the symptoms of good old anxiety will slowly creep in.
Then you start worrying that your increasing anxiety will cause a panic attack, to the point where you almost come up with one.
It’s not easy to fall into a spiral like this, and it doesn’t help you feel like the world is on your side.
But it is. And in order to believe in it again, you need to take one small step at a time to regain control of your thoughts and emotions. Here are his 7 simple strategies to achieve this.
1. Breathe.
When you feel anxious or stressed, the first thing that is affected is your breathing. It becomes tense and short, and you and your body feel even more stressed.
That’s why the first thing you can do to reduce stress is to control your breathing. Take a long deep breath. Don’t focus on anything else.
Ideally, you should use Dr.’s calming 4-7-8 breathing cycle. With Andrew Weil, you inhale for a count of 4, hold your breath for a count of 7, and exhale for a count of 8.
Repeat this until you and your body calm down.
2. Be kind to yourself.
The last thing you want to do during these difficult times is to become critical. Don’t start stressing how you feel and how everything is your fault. This will only make you feel worse. Instead, practice deep self-compassion. Talk to yourself as you would talk to a friend in need. Raise yourself the same way you would raise a neurotic child. Treat yourself as you would treat a loved one suffering from stress
3. Take extra good care of yourself.
Stress and anxiety take a lot out of you. My body and mind are a little tired. This makes you more vulnerable to whatever happens. That’s why it’s important to take special care of yourself. Eat a nutritious diet and eat enough. Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated. Get as much rest as possible and even take a nap during the day if you need to. Keep your body flexible and circulatory with gentle exercise, such as nature walks or yin yoga stretches.
4. Focus on what is going right.
When everything seems to be going wrong, it’s worth focusing on what is going well. It’s easy to exaggerate problems, especially when they occur one after the other.
Don’t make them all encompassing. Recognize that you have this problem and that problem. But that doesn’t mean everything in your life is a problem. Remind yourself of what’s working. Remember that you have something to be thankful for. no matter how small it is important.
5. Break down every problem into teeny weeny ones that are easier to solve.
If you think the problem cannot be solved, break it down into much smaller problems. Of course, the list of problems may be longer than when you started. However, in the end you will have a list of problems that can be solved, rather than problems that cannot be solved. By doing so, you will be able to look to the future with more hope and get through this crisis.
6. Believe that this too shall pass.
Nothing in life is permanent. This includes the problems and challenges you have and whether you feel the world is against you or on your side. Like everything in life, this too shall pass.
