Never Underestimate Your Crazy Idea

As a mother of eight super-active kids, I often find myself hollering at my eight blessed crew with “please, how many times I have to repeat myself to remind you guys to clean after your mess and fix your beds.”

little did I know what I was about to come across.

I am always searching for weird and strange stories that give me to look at life in a more meaningful way.

As I was doing some google search, I came across this message from CNN: “Would you pay over $4 million for an unmade bed? Well, someone did.”

I was utterly lost for words when I looked at the art of “My Bed” like how the heck does someone pay 4 million for a messy bed?

Here’s the back story

Artist Tracey Emin, back in 1998, had a breakup. Miss Emin goes to spend four days in a hot-mess bed, and then a light of inspiration strikes her.

She decides I am not going to dwell in this mess; it’s time I turn it to a message of art.

“Suddenly, I had this vision of taking it out of the bedroom space and putting it into a white gallery space,” she said. “It suddenly made sense,” she said. “Wow, this is fantastic artwork.”

It wasn’t about the messiness of the bed linens but the story it captured of a broken-hearted artist.

“It’s like a piece of history, a time capsule,” Emin said.

I want you to pause for a moment. I know that some of you have crazy ideas that you’d like to bring it to life but have let doubt take over.

Your gift and talents could be the birth to be the next multi-million dollar empire.

Self-doubt will always be there. Even the best of us are at war with it every day. Some of us made the conscious choice to say, SCREW YOU to those doubts!

You can choose to say, I’ll either win or become a warrior through the countless trials.

Find your gift. Dig deep. You are a powerful force.

I know, I know. Some of you might say, “Well, Zahra, I am no famous artist, and there’s no way in hell that something like that could ever happen for me with my crazy idea.”

The story you tell yourself has the POWER to deliver what you believe you can or can’t.

But here’s where I have to agree with you: You have to have an audience who values your work, thoughts, ideas, talents, and from that audience, you can have ONE PERSON ( you don’t need many) who admires your work and willing to pay you for the value you deliver — leading you to your big fat million dollar check.

As you read the article, you noticed Emin already had a fan base, and it took only ONE person to pay for her “My Bed.”

Listen, I am writing to press your buttons and say, “Your ideas are gold, sure maybe not all, but if one makes the goal field, it was all worth the battle.”

We are all capable of the extraordinary.

Obstacles will make their way to you. Naysayers will call you out on your “crazy idea.”

For sure, you’ll have people who want you to do what everyone else is doing. They’ll give you the vibes of breaking from the norm is considered STRANGE.

And the moment you think of calling your crazy idea unique, you will find them laugh it off sarcastically.

Here’s my message to you:

The strang and the unique are the ones who stand out from the pack. Their different approach to life is what gets them ahead of all those who follow the crowd.

If no one ever told you this, I am here to say, “You are a masterpiece creation and what you have to offer — your crazy idea is a priceless gift to all of us.”

Now go on and make me proud. I’ll be here knocking the doors of God in prayers for you because your happiness is my gift in this life.
