What the Heck is Ghostwriting?

Ghostwriting.
What in the heck is it?
This is a question I’ve been asking myself since I joined Twitter in November of ’22. I have seen quite a few people who say they are Twitter ghostwriters, yet I’ve never dug into it to see what it’s all about.
Until now.
Ghostwriting is writing for someone else
According to the online dictionary, ghostwriting is where you:
write (material) for someone else who is the named author.
“she asked him to ghostwrite her memoirs”
You’ve likely heard of ghostwriters for books, but what is this ghostwriting for Twitter? How much can you get paid? How do you get a gig like this?
Let’s find out.
What does a Twitter ghostwriter do?
If you’re on Twitter and you’re having a hard time growing, you can hire a ghostwriter to help you. They will write engaging threads and tweets and get your follower count to grow.
How much can you get paid as a Twitter ghostwriter?
This one is hard to nail down because each client will be different. Each job will be different. You can have a huge list of clients and be making enough money to live on a yacht. Or, you can have a spattering of clients with small jobs, which may be enough to buy a dozen eggs.
The important thing is that you need to show results to your client.
How do you get started on Twitter as a ghostwriter?
If you want to start ghostwriting and you’re brand new, here are a few steps you can take to get started:
- Pick a niche you’re interested in learning or one that you are already an expert in.
- Find Twitter accounts in this niche.
- Start commenting on their tweets (make sure your comments are valuable) so they start to recognize you.
- Pitch them an offer in their DMs. Work for free at first if you don’t have experience.
