What Kind Of Person Needs 55 Homes?
Someone in Ukraine with lots of money
Perhaps he supplied homes for his family and friends
Most people may own one home or live in a rented apartment. Having a summer home or cabin is common for many families in the United States. There are some families which have multiple homes, but one person owning 55 homes is almost unheard of in today’s world.
An article in The Washington Post indicated that Ukrainian authorities had seized a sum of 154 assets from Viktor Medvedchuk. He is a pro-Kremlin opposition politician who is very wealthy. He was one of the richest people living in Ukraine. He was captured after he escaped from house arrest shortly after Russia invaded Ukraine.
Included in the long list of assets seized from Medvedchuk and his family were: 30 plots of land, 23 houses, 32 apartments, 26 cars, and one yacht.
Medvedchuk is one of Ukraine’s most notorious oligarchs. He has a close relationship with Vladimir Putin, Russian President. Putin is godfather to a daughter of Medvedchuk’.
Although he came from humble beginnings, Medvedchuk is one of the richest people in Ukraine. He lived a lavish lifestyle.
He was charged with treason last year by Ukrainian authorities. He had been placed under house arrest with some of his assets being frozen. He escaped from house arrest in a mansion shortly after Russia invaded Ukraine.
His location was not known, but then he was captured.
As one of the wealthiest people in Ukraine, Medvedchuk had a net worth of $620 million in 2021 according to Forbes Ukraine. He had control over three television channels which were said to be bankrolled by Russia. The channels were blocked last year by Ukraine.
The news report stated: In its statement released on Thursday, Ukraine’s State Bureau of Investigation said it would continue to “prosecute traitors and confiscate their property, as is required by law.”
Some people have control over so much money, but they may not be safe. Having 55 homes is not common even for billionaires. Some could be rental properties to make more money. That lifestyle with so much money could create problems, which it seems to have done for this wealthy man.
