What Is Your Favorite Scent? What Scent Makes You Feel Nostalgic?
Dancing Elephants Press Weekly Prompt 38 of 52
We all have a favorite scent. And often, we associate that smell with something.
For instance, one of my favorite fragrances or scents is my mom’s cooking which I miss so much. I love how our home would fill up with the aroma of food, mixed with a gentle hint of incense from the prayer room. When I hugged my mom, this mix of scents would make me feel as if my soul had found its home.
I love the scent of my coffee, my books, baby talcum powder which I still use, the aroma of baking, Mom’s favorite flowers. . .
. . . and of course, perfume. And oh, I also love incense.
All of these scents take me to my happy place and instantly calm me. Even the thought of these takes me down memory lane, recalling stories, reliving them, and enjoying the nostalgia.
Did I mention coffee?
I simply enjoy walking down to the flower market in our neighborhood where you can see different kinds of flowers for as far as the eye can see, inhaling the fragrance in the air from jasmine, champa, roses and others, all happily mixed with smells that make our market unique.
