What is the One Thing You Would Change About Your Spouse

After 49 years of marriage I know this one well

Allen and Pam — November 2023. He thinks he looks goofy but he was laughing at the guy taking the pic.

If you’ve read my stories about my husband then you know I love him to death. Oh yes, I have made him into a character (Mr. Pam) and I do make fun of him, but he’s assured me it doesn’t bother him.

You could say he’s got broad shoulders.

Although there isn’t much I’d change about him, not that he’s perfect, there is one main big thing about him that disappoints both of us. Yes, we would both like to change this quirk because it’s a three-prong problem.

Mr. Pam can’t carry a tune, and he has no sense of rhythm.

How he managed to play the trombone in his high school band is beyond me.

He says he just watched others as he tried to keep one eye on the band leader. And the band leader never knew!

This problem also affects his ability to dance.

I mean since he can’t catch the rhythm he looks like a klutz on the dance floor. Oh this doesn’t stop him from dancing, but thank goodness he keeps it low key.

And forget about him taking me in his arms for a slow dance. My toes take too much of a beating so we sit those out.

Unfortunately I love to dance so this has been an ongoing disappointment for me over the years. Although I’ve never seen it as “a game changer” in our marriage.

He wishes this too because he doesn’t like to sit out dances. And he’d like to be able to sing along to songs he loves.

At church there are certain hymns he loves to hear and sing, but he won’t belt them out. He knows his singing would make would make others feel uncomfortable, plus he would embarrass himself. This makes me feel sorry for him but he doesn’t like that either.

When he was 10 his mom enrolled he and his younger brother in tap lessons. He actually did ‘shuffle, ball, change’ for an entire minute much to his mother’s embarrassment. Tee hee!

In his defense he says the music went on 60 seconds after he’d finished all the steps he knew in the dance routine so that was all he knew to do.

The old video of it is hysterical to watch. 😂 But for his sake we try not to laugh too hard when we watch it which isn’t often.
