What is Love?
She said they had feelings!

Jenny’s mother was not happy because Jenny spent too much time after school with Derrick. They are both 15-year-old students.
“But you said it was OK, Mom, we are helping each other with homework, and I love him!” Jenny declared.
“Oh, yea! So what is love? May I ask?” was her mother’s response.
“Well, I know Derrick feels it too.” and she proceeds;
“Love is a feeling you feel when you feel that what you feel is a feeling you never felt before — we can’t help it. It is just there!” was Jenny’s explanation.
“Oh boy! You have no clue. Your dad will talk to you after dinner. Case closed for now!” responded her mother.
Jenny’s dad laughed when he heard her explanation. But, he agreed that love leads our hearts & changes lives. Love is a gift.
Her dad told her about respect for herself & others, being selfless & doing what is best for the other person.
They discussed acceptable behavior & repercussions for irresponsible actions in the teen years. He encouraged his daughter to set goals for a career, contribute to the community, and get to know Derrick’s family.
He encouraged openness to feel free to ask & discuss concerns that arise in their lives.
Fast-forward, Eight years later, after a college education & profitable careers, the two were married.
Today, the sweet couple are the proud parents of two little boys. They purchased a home, & they have the emotional support of their parents.
Derrick continues gainful employment, and Jenny is a breastfeeding stay-at-home mom.
Their love ‘feelings’ are present & beautiful!

Thank you, readers, for viewing my true story.
