Summary

The website content reflects on the biblical story of Mary and Joseph during Christmas, emphasizing the themes of love, non-judgment, and God's plan for humanity through the birth of Jesus.

Abstract

The content delves into a personal reflection on the Christmas story, drawing inspiration from both the biblical account of Mary and Joseph and a modern retelling by Grace Bianco. It highlights the societal judgment faced by Mary for being pregnant and unmarried, paralleling it with the broader message of Christmas: God's love and plan for salvation through Jesus Christ. The author encourages readers to embrace God's love, overcome past judgments, and step into the future He has planned, fulfilling His purpose for their lives. The text also references scripture to underscore the glory of God revealed in Jesus and the message of peace and goodwill proclaimed by the angels at Jesus' birth.

Opinions

  • The author suggests that the story of Mary and Joseph can teach us about love and the importance of not judging others, as God has a unique plan for each person.
  • There is an opinion that the societal norms and judgments of Mary's time for being pregnant and unmarried are contrasted with the divine plan

What is love?

A Christmas story.

I have never before stopped to realize how the people that lived in Jesus’s day may have viewed the story of Mary and Joseph

Grandpa Koop read to us out loud the story each year at the Christmas Family Gathering (from Luke, chapter 2).

But today I just finished reading Grace Bianco’s story:

Thank you, Grace Bianco

And it hit me…about Mary and Joseph.

I remembered this:

Mary was pregnant, and Joseph was walking the donkey with Mary on its back towards a place to have the baby.

I can now Imagine that there were many judgmental people all around (after reading Grace’s story above)

After all Mary was pregnant and not married. That went against all the rules.

And it’s a reminder to me to stop judging others.

God had a plan (as He does for each of us)

No matter what is in our past, HIS future is bright!

Step through the door that He has opened for you. Be who He wants you to be. Fulfill His plan for you!

God planned for Jesus to come in the flesh to show us what love is.

God, who created the heavens and the earth, has made it possible for us to know His Son, and to see God’s glory in the face of Jesus, our Messiah.

Jesus stooped to our level to show us the Father.

He was willing to become poor for our sakes.

2 Corinthians 4:6 “For it is God, who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shown in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God, in the face of Jesus Christ.”

Luke 2:13–14 The angels praised God and said: “Glory to God, in the highest, and on earth peace, Goodwill towards men!”

Merry Christmas, and may you embrace His Love, Salvation and Peace for you today.
