[Technology]What is electricity?

Do you really know what electricity is? If not, you’re in the right place. No need to be an electrician or have a bachelor in physics. My articles are simple, short and easy to understand.
Imagine for example an object. This object will be divided into very small pieces until it will be impossible to break it. This last unbreakable piece is called an atom. An atom can be divided but anyway you got the idea.
Atoms are what constitute the matter and are composed as below:
A Nucleus which is composed of Proton and Neutron, and electrons that orbit around the Nucleus.
The electrons orbit in many different shells. In the last one which we call Valence shell, electrons are free and can move from one atom to another. Some Atoms have many free electrons and others have “holes” that can capture those electrons.
Yeah we understand all of this but what is electricity?
- The electricity is just the movement of the electrons from point A to point B.
- The voltage which is measured by Volts is just the number of free electrons we have in point A and the number of “holes” we have in point B.
- The current which we measure with Amps is just the number of electrons flowing from point A to point B
