Let’s Start With Honesty

I’m a writer that’s struggling with content. I reached out to my AI solution and asked for input. Then, I manipulate it to “fit” my story and call it my own.

Wait, when we were in school and copied off someone else’s work, wasn’t that dishonest? Isn't that dishonest if I put someone else’s solution on my paper and get credit for their work? Didn’t we learn NOT to do that when we were in grade school, then high school, and then S.A.T.s and every other test platform out there? Am I wrong?

Progress

Bold men and women have been creating advances in every facet of our everyday life throughout history. What happened when we learned they capitalized on someone else’s work? They were publicly stripped of accolades and awards, and in many cases, they were ostracized for claiming someone else’s work as their own.

Has Our Moral Policy Changed?

I must have been out the day that a Memo making it acceptable was issued. Who died and gave that person permission to change thousands of years of morality into turpitude on a grand scale?

Do you know what happens when good people do nothing? NOTHING. That’s how things we cherish change. We don’t want them to, but we do NOTHING, and the next thing you know, using someone else’s work and claiming it as your own is not only legal, it’s acceptable. It has become the new norm.

Everyone has their own code of moral judgment. By not telling yours fully and adhering to it, are you saying it doesn’t matter? What about principles, policy, and plain old honesty? Are you addressing the issues at hand?
