What is Abundance? And How Can You Have a Truly Abundant Life?
Discussions on “abundance” will deepen your understanding of the topic as well as provide you with actionable steps to having an abundant life
When we talk about having an abundant life, here are some of the things that we mean.
“Live large, believe in the endless possibilities that life has to offer. Choose to live an abundant life creating memorable moments you can cherish forever. ”
But what does this all really mean and what can you practically do to live this way?
But if you have tried this for any amount of time, you know how hard this is.
We are therefore going to explore this idea in detail so that you can hopefully find ways in which to practice it in actionable steps.
What does abundance mean?
In this sense, abundance means a state of being that is filled with inexhaustible plenty.
Any individual who lived a truly abundant life would know this and would lack/want for nothing.
Having a truly abundant life would stop people from hoarding resources, or fighting over the seemingly scarce resources that are available.
But we know that this is not our reality.
People hoard, steal, cheat, and so on because they want to acquire something they think is scarce and that having it will improve their lives.
Normally, the talks on abundance are highly dedicated to improving our financial wellbeing but then many fail to recognize the role it plays in other areas of our lives.
Abundance, therefore, is the opposite of perceiving something as scarce.
What does true abundance look like?
But here is the problem with abundance and why we find it so hard to get our grips on it.
Society is built on structures that value scarce resources and devalue abundance.
Can you think for a second about how much value dust on the dirt path has?
You’d hardly place any value on it because it’s always available when you need it and it also has little to no use in the market.
Here is the fun part.
Can you perceive money, or your relationships with the same abundance you perceive the dust on that dirt path?
That question stupefies the reader.
I mean, how can you make me want to view money with as much abundance as the dust on my floor?
First of all, the dust seems infinite while I know that the money in my country’s supply and reserves is finite.
Also, money’s nature of liquidity makes it the ultimate object of value in our world whereas dust is the least object of value.
The disconnect comes from the value we place on both of the cases. It is about how much attachment we have to these things.
Most people place countless significance on money when compared to dust.
Therefore, the true abundance I am talking about would be one that makes you perceive money or whatever you desire as abundant as the dust on that dirt path — While maintaining the recognition of how valuable it is.
It is the type of abundance that holds no reservations as to the availability of your desire.
The challenge of perceiving abundance
As you might already have guessed, it is hard to have a perception that holds no reservations to the availability of your desire.
This is quite simply because there is a lot of attachment to it. Our societies have trained us that way.
When you love someone, you know it is healthy for you to let them go if they hurt you.
But what they mean to you has such a stronghold on your mind and heart that you don’t believe you can ever find someone else like them if they leave.
So you stay with them. They abuse you, take advantage of you, and so on without you leaving.
The money you want is often much more of a need than a mere desire. In most cases, your life depends on it. You have no time or patience for its coming.
You feel like you cannot entertain anything else apart from the thought of having it.
When you practice your abundance from this state of mind, you keep pulling yourself out and observing your reality, you note that the money you want has not shown up yet.
So you leave all this abundance to talk to out-of-touch people and spiritual wuwu practitioners.
Therefore the challenge lies in the attachments we have to our desires.
They are so valuable to us that we are almost incapable of thinking about them as abundant.
How can you increase abundance in your life?
For now, forget the idea of trying to perceive money as abundant as the dust on the dirt path. There is so much against you in form of beliefs, attitudes and yet you can still have a decent life with a less perfect practice of abundance.
As much as it is the ultimate form of abundance, there are varying degrees on the spectrum of possession.
Therefore as a human being, it's not about whether or not you have an abundance mindset. It is about the degree to which you practice abundance in your life.
Through that, you can adopt habits that can help you increase the degree of your abundance mindset.
So here is one suggestion I have found helpful in my life.
As Seth says in the nature of personal reality and the Seth material, thoughts are electromagnetic realities.
The first step to cultivating the abundance you need is to first realize that Seth’s statement is true otherwise you won’t find any meaning in doing this.
If you recognize this truth, then two more steps will be required.
- Thinking
- Acting on the best available knowledge
Thinking
Realize that your thoughts are drawing to you the nature of their content. If those thoughts are positive, they will draw to you those positive experiences.
When thinking, live in that reality without trying to look for its evidence in your real world.
If you want money, then during the time that your mind is idle, or not pre-occupied by active thoughts, create mental movies that revolve around you getting your desired result.
Do it as you fall asleep every night.
Entertainment is a powerful thing. Therefore, make your mental movies entertaining as far as you are concerned and try to reach for that feeling of being lost in your thoughts.
Then do it constantly until it becomes boring for you or until you find something else more entertaining.
Act on the best available knowledge
If you persist in thinking these thoughts, you will soon find yourself compelled to do certain things such as work that are in line with what you were thinking about.
Do that work.
Pay no attention to the outcomes of the work you do especially in the beginning.
Focus your attention on doing the best possible work you can that is in line with those thoughts.
If you should look at the outcomes, try to look for what you can do better in your work rather than look at factors that are outside your control.
Then do it consistently.
