What I’m Grateful For Today

A poem in response to Dancing Elephants prompt 8 of 52

I AM Grateful

In the quiet alleyways of a recondite place within, it inhabits a quiet, still, and feathery smooth sense. It may translate into a feeling, knowing, or inkling… For the divine presence within, I’m grateful.

Found in the verses of a random song, dreams, silence, the pages of ancient lore, or the angel’s voice… For the sacred message, I’m grateful.

Taught through mystical and synchronic events, the regular occurrence of day-to-day, or the awe from aha moments… For the spiritual lesson and growth, I’m grateful.

Given the chance to dwell in blood and flesh, to live, love, laugh, play, and learn, knowing through it all, we get to choose our fate… For the omnipresent and eternal grace, I’m grateful.

I am thankful for everything in my life, the good, the bad, and the ugly.

However, I would have missed many invaluable life lessons without an inner compass leading my life. So, this poem is about ‘being grateful for my intuition.’

Even the stuff I judged as bad when it happened turned out to be a blessing in disguise and for a purpose that became apparent much later, and that surfaced to my awareness only through my intuition.

We may lose faith and feel lost and abandoned when things don’t go as planned. But there’s always help coming our way if we stay alert and look for the messages between the lines.

With time, I learned to trust my intuition and that all the answers are found within. As Albert Einstein beautifully said:

The only real valuable thing is intuition.
