What If Your Flight Is Canceled?
App chat is sometimes more useful than phone calls
You book your flight, start packing happily, and you get a message that your flight has been canceled.
Is it annoying? what will you do?
This happened to me recently.
One night, I booked a round-trip flight in an app. After getting confirmation, I was about to go to bed when my phone rang and a message popped up:
Airline changes your itinerary!
What’s that?!
It turned out that my return flight has been canceled by the airline. My round-trip became one-way. 😨
If this was something you arranged with the airline directly, you’re all taken care of and no further action is needed.
Did I arrange it with the airline? This is ridiculous! Why did I cancel my return flight? Of course not! I want a return ticket!!!

Looks like I have to call them. But it was midnight and no one answered the phone. And I don’t want to wait until the next day.
So I opened the app I just booked my flight and wanted to try the customer service button that I used before. Press this button to chat with a virtual agent.
Different questions are displayed on the screen and the customer can select the question related to them. My question obviously cannot be expected to answer accordingly by the virtual agent.
Just when I was disappointed, I stumbled across that I could ask to speak to a real person.
So exciting! 😍Look at the time. It was past midnight. Is it possible that there are still people working so late?
I pressed the request button, but I still doubted a real person would show up. Surprisingly, soon a staff member named Hsman (renamed) came online.
When he learned that my scheduled flight was suddenly canceled and I needed a return ticket, he promised to find a suitable alternative flight for me immediately.
Then he quickly found me a new flight (at the same price).
Finally, he told me that within the next 24 hours, I would receive a new ticket confirmation.
It only took about 10 minutes to solve my problem. Cool! 😃

If you are as anxious as I am, you can use the customer service button on the booking app to chat with a real person who will listen to your needs and provide efficient assistance.
It is easy and fast!
Phone calls often require long wait times and may only be available during the day.
Remember to confirm your new itinerary the next day! If you don’t receive it, go back to the app and talk to a real person who will help you right away.
