What If We Unravelled Spaghetti
a poem and a childhood dream

As a child, I wondered if we could unravel spaghetti unbroken such that it would be one single spaghetti twirled up into the plate as one entity.
Turns out my ancestors have already had this journey played out for me with Longevity Noodles.

Hi, I’m Lucy Dan 蛋小姐 (she/her/她) and little me was ecstatic to find out that This Thing I Thought I Invented In My Brain Noodle had already been invented somewhere. In my culture, it’s called 長壽麵 (Longevity Noodles; Cheung Sau Meen — Lucy’s Chaotic Canto Pronunciation Guide). It also appears in other cuisines such as Italian (Spaghetto) and Japanese (Udon: Long Edition).
