What If I Told You That I
A love poem
If I told you how much I love you would you respond with an imagined playful affection joyful exuberance and a worldly smile
Or would the nakedness of my words left out there come back to shred my heart
This is the question where not knowing the answer is a paradoxical comfort in itself
Who would have thought our worlds would pivot around the utterance of a feeling Just three words, I love you
But the gravity pulls deep If not only for myself But because of their meaning
The mere thought of your love oscillates my mind between limitless heights of elation and rivers of despair
Second-guessing, wishing and checking Looking for signs of a palpable conclusion
Each interaction a catalogue of cherished moments quickens my heartbeat sending blood tingling throughout
Riding the sensation spinning the illusion
If I dare say, I love you Would you say, you love me too because once said We both know there is no turning back
