What I Read This Week — The Highlights
For the week of January 14, 2024
When we learn how to read as kids, we start to realize the impact that the written word has in our lives. We read to learn, for entertainment, and to experience the world more fully. There are stories to be found in the pages of books that we would never find otherwise.
As part of a community of readers and writers here on Medium, we can rediscover our love of the written word. We can come alive again by experiencing the words on the page. We connect with others across the world, and learn things we would never otherwise know.
Being able to share together in a community like this is a gift that we are given each day. By participating in a reading and writing community, we grow as people and learn to see unique perspectives.
This week on Medium, I read 56 stories.
Every week, I highlight a few to share with all of you, in hopes that you enjoy them as much as I did. Sharing stories this way is a great way to connect with each other.
The first story I want to share today comes from Ari Love, and talks about becoming the main character in your life story. Too often, we put ourselves in supporting roles in other people’s lives instead of stepping into our own power.
The next story I want to share is by Pala Najana, and it speaks to using the Puppy Love method to bring the Loving-Kindness Meditation to life in your everyday experience. Open your heart to others, and you will be amazed by what you find.
The final story I want to share this week comes from Roger A. Reid, Ph.D., and talks about how goal setting can have a negative effect if taken too far. This is a unique perspective that can help us as we begin the new year.
As you read these stories, I hope they bring unique perspectives to life for you. Expanding your mind, your consciousness, and leaning in to your Spirituality can help you live a bright and beautiful life. I hope that your life grows more and more beautiful every day.
Have a bright and blessed day, my lovelies! I hope you have a lovely week filled with reading and writing, and that you feel enriched by what you learn.
