What I Read This Week — The Highlights
For the week of November 19, 2023
Here on Medium, we are lucky to have a beautiful community of readers and writers to share with. We can learn so much from each other, and open our minds to unique perspectives. The more we can learn about the world, the more empathy we can have for others.
Reading helps us to connect, to think critically, and to expand our minds. I am grateful every day to be a part of this community. Thank you all for sharing our thoughts!
This week, I read 35 stories here on Medium:
Each week, I feature several of the stories that I read in order to share these unique perspectives with others.
The first story I want to feature this week comes from Patrícia Williams, and talks about the importance of being your authentic self. We wear many masks throughout life to gain acceptance, but it can get exhausting to pretend to be someone you’re not.
The next story I want to feature comes from Lisa Beth Wright, talking about how religion makes her feel separated from God. This is something that resonates deeply with me, as I have had similar experiences with the church.
The final story I want to feature is from Citizen Reader, talking about the cost of elder care that the Baby Boomers are currently facing, and how this will leave nothing left to inherit for the younger generation.
I hope you enjoy all of these stories as much as I did, and that they really make you think. Learning about other people’s perspectives can help us to think more deeply about how these issues effect our own lives. Thank you all for sharing your stories! It really means a lot.
Have a beautiful week, my lovelies! Happy reading, and happy writing!
