What I Have Learned From My First 10 Atomic Newsletter Issues

I love atomic newsletters.
Over the last couple of months, I have subscribed to about two dozen of them. And I have found some of the best articles thanks to these newsletters.
So, two weeks ago, I decided to start one of my own.
And you know what? It was probably one of the best decisions I have ever made. It is probably the second most addictive writing thing I have ever done.
The first is published on Medium daily.
However, I want to share with you what I have learned from writing the first ten issues of my atomic newsletter.
5 Lessons from 10 Issues
- Reading rates are high! 71%. When people know that the email is short, it seems to make it easier for them to open and read the email.
- Click-through rates are high too! 32%. Now, I know my early audience is highly engaged, but this is higher than anything I’ve seen before.
- Easy to create. Look, atomic newsletters are all about bringing curated info in a small package to the reader. Of course, it’s easy.
- Fun to create. I have already saved a ton of articles, posts, and resources. I’ve also connected with self-publishing authors. It's fun to share that info with people now.
- Opportunities are huge. So, I started about two weeks ago. I’ve got just under 30 subscribers. Between affiliate links and simply sharing my Medium stories, I’ve seen an increase in income with just a few.
Should you start an atomic newsletter?
If you have any kind of knowledge in your particular niche and a backlog of saved posts, stories, and books you should definitely start an atomic newsletter.
That information needs to be shared and this is an easy way to do it. Plus, you could grow a small readership that trusts you so much that you can share your books and resources with them too.
