What Happened Last Night? My Reads and Views Got Messed Up!

Seriously, What’s Going On?

A couple of weeks ago, I decided that looking at my stats very frequently was not good for me, it was only causing anxiety, so I decided to check only a couple of times a day.

  1. In the morning, I review my earnings from the previous day and the story stats so far for the current day.
  2. At night, I see how many readings I managed to close the day.

Today was no exception…

It was 5:45 am when my alarm went off and I decided to get up. I turned on the coffee maker so that the coffee smell would flood the room and I sat for a few minutes with my cell phone in hand to wait for the elixir of life to be ready.

I reviewed my story stats, and what I found really disappointed me, and I can’t find an explanation (maybe you can?) The line in which the Views VS Reads graph moves usually maintains a distance, we all know that many people go into our stories without reading them. But that line today is not congruent, the views and reads go in opposite directions!

What in the world is happening? Was the story I published last night that bad? I can’t see the stats of the story yet but I don’t understand why 49 people would do this, or could it be a single person doing the same thing in all my stories?

I checked the stats per story and I can’t find anything strange, everything seems to be working at a normal pace except that I don’t know if I will be able to recover from this terrible 9% read ratio today.

It’s 11:20 am and now 67 views and 14 Reads are shown.

Whoever is doing this, please stop! this was not the way I expected to close the month of February! (I’ve got to say that February has gone wrong in so many aspects of my life, I’m glad it’s over!).

That being said… I will go back to work on other things. I will need to figure out how to fix this mess, I you want to collaborate I would appreciate if you could read any of my stories and stay for more than 30 seconds. I usually don’t ask this… but hey! those who know me would also know for sure that I would support you if this ever happened to your account!

Thank you!
