What Enneagram Type Is Each Court Card?
What is your Enneagram type, and what court card do you relate to the most?

A few years ago, I had an intense interest in the Enneagram, and I have been getting back into it a little. First, I will tell you what the Enneagram is for those who do not know it.
The Enneagram is a personality typing system that describes nine different personality types or “enneatypes.” Each enneatype is characterized by a unique set of core motivations, fears, and desires that shape how people think, feel, and behave. It is similar to MBTI®.
The Enneagram has ancient roots and has been used in various forms throughout history. Still, it was popularized in the West in the 20th century by teachers such as Oscar Ichazo, Claudio Naranjo, and Helen Palmer.
It has since been adopted by many contemporary teachers and practitioners and has become a popular tool for personal growth and development.

The Enneagram is based on the idea that each person has a dominant enneatype that influences their thoughts, emotions, and actions. However, they also have characteristics of other types to varying degrees. The nine enneatypes are:
Type 1: The Reformer — Strive for perfection and are motivated by a sense of moral obligation. They are conscientious and detail-oriented and want to improve themselves and the world around them.
Type 2: The Helper — Driven by a need to be needed, they are caring and nurturing individuals who want to feel appreciated and loved. They often put others’ needs before their own and have a strong desire to be of service to others.
Type 3: The Achiever — Ambitious and driven, they are motivated by success and recognition. They are hardworking, have a strong desire to achieve their goals and be seen as successful.
Type 4: The Individualist — Unique and reflective; they are driven by a need to express themselves and be authentic. They can be sensitive and moody, often feeling like they don’t fit in with others.
Type 5: The Investigator — Analytical and reflective, they are driven by a need to understand the world around them. They can be private and withdrawn and often prefer to observe rather than engage with others.
Type 6: The Loyalist — Dedicated and loyal, they are motivated by a need for security and stability. They can be anxious and indecisive and often seek reassurance and support from others.
Type 7: The Enthusiast — Optimistic and adventurous, they are driven by a need for stimulation and variety. They can be impulsive and fear missing out, but they are also creative and fun-loving.
Type 8: The Challenger — Strong and assertive, they are motivated by a need for control and power. They can be confrontational and may struggle with vulnerability, but they are also protective and loyal to those they care about.
Type 9: The Peacemaker — Easygoing and harmonious, they are motivated by a need for peace and unity. They can be passive and avoid conflict but are compassionate and empathetic towards others.
Each type is associated with a specific set of personality traits, strengths, and challenges, and understanding your dominant type can help you gain insight into your motivations, behaviors, and relationships. And then you have the Enneagram wings.
In the Enneagram system, the wing is the neighboring personality type that influences and modifies a person’s dominant style.
Each of the nine Enneagram types can be influenced by one of the two adjacent types, commonly known as “wings.” So, for example, if someone is a Type 1, their wings would be either Type 2 or Type 9.
Your wing can affect the expression of your dominant type. For example, suppose you are a Type 1 with a 2 wing, written as 1w2. In that case, you may be more likely to display the nurturing and supportive qualities of Type 2, in addition to the more rigid and perfectionistic tendencies of Type 1.
It’s important to note that while a person may have a dominant type and a wing, they are still primarily one type. The wing adds nuance and complexity to their personality, allowing for greater understanding and self-awareness.
Now that you understand the Enneagram, I will do something fun and associate each Enneagram type with the wing of each tarot court card.
This assessment may not be entirely correct as I am not a psychologist or an Enneagram expert. However, this is how I see it!
And the name of the Enneagram type with the wing comes from Crystal Knows, a platform that helps professionals meet the needs of their potential buyers by understanding their personality types.
The platform uses the Enneagram and MBTI®, but I only use the Enneagram to type each court card. So now, I will start!
Page of Wands 9w1 — The Negotiator
The Page of Wands is kind, friendly, and sensitive. He also wants to live in the present, has their space, and work within the time frame that suits them. The Page of Wands is committed to those who matter to them and their values.

The Knight of Wands is known to be outgoing and fun, loves life, and enjoys working with others to manifest what he wants. The Knight of Wands has a realistic approach to the work they do while they make their work an enjoyable experience and does not let opportunities slide.
They are also known to be spontaneous and adaptable and enjoy learning new skills with others.
Queen of Wands 9w8 — The Advisor
The Queen of Wands is on the quieter side, but she is friendly, independent, disciplined, conscientious, and committed. She values her obligations and cares about how others feel as she remembers essential details about those who matter to her.
She wants to create a fun, energetic, organized, harmonious home environment. Even though she is quieter and can be a peacemaker as she does not want to get into conflicts, she can be quite motivational.
She can be an excellent motivational speaker and assertive in her own way, which can create conflict within her.
King of Wands 8w9 — The Diplomat
King of Wands is warmhearted but makes it known he is the CEO, the boss! He does want peace, but at the same time, he will push back if anyone attempts to cross his boundaries.
He also wants to be the leader but is very cooperative, listens to what others need, and does what he can to accommodate them. He notices what others need and will do what he can to provide for them. He, however, does make it clear he wants others to appreciate him for his help, his leadership, and what he does.
Page of Swords 5w4 — The Philosopher
The Page of Swords is the type that constantly seeks logical explanations for everything that intrigues them. The Page is not overly interested in social interaction and is much more interested in ideas, abstract, and theoretical thoughts.
He is also quiet and flexible, has an uncanny skill to focus in-depth on problem-solving, and can delve into subjects about their interests. The Page can be critical, analytical, and skeptical.
Knight of Swords 3w4 — The Expert
The Knight of Swords is known to be outspoken and stimulating and can also be highly resourceful. Solving problems and delving into challenges is something they want to take on because they want the challenge.
The Knight can create conceptual possibilities and can strategically analyze them. The character is not crazy about routine as it bores them, and does not like to do the same thing repeatedly in the same manner. The Knight is great at reading others and will try out new interests.
Queen of Swords 5w6 — The Troubleshooter
The Queen of Swords has an original mind and is driven to achieve her goals and implement her ideas into her work. She immediately sees patterns in events ad will develop perspectives based on them. When she is committed, which she often is, she will organize and fulfill a task.
She is independent and skeptical and has extremely high standards for performance and competence for others and herself. She does not hold back on saying what is on her mind and will express her concerns which do not always come tactfully.
She has no filter. However, she is also private about her life and experiences and appears cold, even though that is untrue.
King of Swords 8w7 — The Nonconformist
The King of Swords is known to be the matter-of-fact, pragmatic, and realistic type. He is fast when it comes to moving to essential decisions and is highly decisive. He will be the one to lead and organize tasks and will ensure that those who he leads will get the work done.
His concern is getting the results efficiently, and he will also be the one to take care of the details regarding any routines, as he does not trust that anyone else can do the job as he can.
He has a lot of realistic standards and will systemically follow them and encourage others to follow them too. He can be forceful more often than not. He is the CEO!

Knight of Cups 3w2 — The Enchanter
The Knight of Cups is known to be charming and romantic, but I still would not say he is an Enneagram 4. He is highly imaginative and enthusiastic and believes life has many possibilities. His ability to connect events and information is exceptional.
Due to this, he is confident in his decision-making based on what he sees. He will give plenty of support and encouragement, but he also wants appreciation from others, as he wants others to admire and accept him. He is flexible and spontaneous and can be a smooth talker.
Queen of Cups 4w5 — The Free Spirit
The Queen of Cups is the one that has the desire to find meaning behind why things happen and constantly looks for connections to material possessions, ideas, and her relationships.
She needs to learn about the motivations behind people, and as she learns about them, that provides her with the insight she needs and wants. She is very committed to her values and conscientious, as she often retreats to find them. She cares about others, cares about the world’s well-being, and wants to see how she can help them.
She finds ways to help where possible, as she is also organized. She worries that she will not have enough impact on the world, so she does what she can to prevent that from happening.
King of Cups 2w3 — The Host
The King of Cups is warm, caring, and quite empathetic. He can understand and feel the emotions of others as he is an empath and highly tuned to everyone else’s needs, desires, and motivations, and he wants to meet their needs.
He wants to encourage others to be their best and do their best and may have the magic touch to help them see they can reach their full potential. He is responsive to others and listens to constructive criticism and praise. He can organize others in groups and can encourage and inspire others.
Page of Pentacles 6w5 — The Guadian
The Page of Pentacles is the one to analyze problems and wants to understand the basics of cause and effect, and uses logical principles to organize facts. They want to collect a large number of data to find the leading cause of practical problems.
The Page is the observer who is quiet until a problem arises, then does what is possible to solve the issue, and also values efficiency. The main interest is to find solutions to any issues that come up. You can say that the Page expects issues to arise and wants to be the one to fix them. He can be a skeptic.
Knight of Pentacles 6w7 — The Confidant
The Knight of Pentacles is a little more tolerant and flexible than the Page, but he is known as the “slowest moving knight” in the tarot. He still wants immediate results for his work but will take a more pragmatic approach than the other knights.
He wants to solve problems more energetically and does not care for conceptual and theoretical explanations behind problems. He loves his material comforts but focuses on the present more than the Page of Pentacles and savors each moment he has with others as he is also more sociable than the Page. He is quite loyal and committed to those who he values.
Queen of Pentacles 1w9 — The Optimist
The Queen of Pentacles is known to be serious, quiet, and thriving because she is quite dependable and thorough in what she does. She is known to be responsible, realistic, and practical.
She likes organization and values her work, home, family, and life. She is all about respecting her traditions, and she is pretty loyal. She does what she can to minimize distractions so she can work towards her goals pragmatically and in an organized manner.
The Queen of Pentacles does not like anything distracting her, so she will neaten her work area up before going to work. The last thing she ever wants to do is anything that could be morally or ethically questionable.
King of Pentacles 1w2 — The Activist
The King of Pentacles is an honest, pragmatic, and decisive leader. He is good with setting up systems that he can use to solve problems and will quickly eliminate any procedure that is not logical or helpful when it comes to solving problems.
He will not try to solve issues by implementing tactics that will not solve them, as he will look for tactics that will solve problems.
The King of Pentacles is full of knowledge and wants to pass his wisdom to others who can benefit from them, as he cares about their well-being and is always looking to make ethical choices. He is extremely well-informed and loves setting goals and planning long-term.
