Summary

The website content is an invitation to engage with the "Dancing Elephants" weekly writing prompt focused on self-love and self-care, encouraging writers to share their perspectives on the topic and plan a perfect day for themselves.

Abstract

The web content from Dancing Elephants Press introduces the 17th writing prompt of the year, centered on the theme of self-love and self-care. It encourages readers to reflect on what self-care means to them, how they would spend a perfect day treating themselves, and what kind of gift they would choose for themselves. The article provides anecdotes from the author about enjoying personal time, whether through taking a day off, engaging in hobbies, or simple acts like applying a hair mask while enjoying a book and coffee. The prompt is part of a 52-week series, and participants are guided to use a specific subtitle, tag their responses, and contribute at any time without a deadline. The editorial team, including Vidya Sury and others, invites the community to share their stories and experiences, contributing to a live book of responses, and to follow Dancing Elephants Press on social media for more updates and interactions.

What Does Self-love Look Like To You?

With Valentine’s Day coming up next month, for many, it is time to look for the perfect gift for that special someone. Plan a wonderfully memorable day.

What if that special someone was you?

What if you planned a wonderful day for yourself?

What if you showed yourself some love?

This week’s prompt, then, is all about self-love and self-care.

How about pampering yourself, appreciating yourself?

Write about . . .

  • What self-care looks like to you.
  • How you would plan a perfect day for yourself.
  • What you would give yourself as a gift?

For me, self-care or self-love is as easy as taking a day off or having an unexpected date with myself.

Sometimes I take an impromptu day off work and enjoy a hobby or binge-watch something I enjoy. Or walk around my area leisurely with no agenda, taking pictures as I go along, talking to the vendors I pass, and collecting smiles. Do some street shopping or window shopping just for fun, taking in all the colors that brighten up the place.

Sometimes self-love can be as simple as enjoying a cup of coffee quietly, reading a book, or enjoying waking up late, or visiting a friend. Or applying that hair mask/face mask you have always planned to, and feeling the glow.

That’s me with a hair mask on while I enjoy a coffee, reading my book. 👇

I can’t wait to read what self-care/self-love looks like to you! ❤
