Respect Respect
What Does Respect Mean To You?
It is more than being agreeable | dizain poetic form

Written in response to Paper Poetry’s July 2023 Prompt by Carolyn Hastings, ‘With All Due Respect.’
It is not about what you like or not — or the color of someone’s hair and eyes or the price of their car or sleek blue yacht. There is something more important here, guys. Let us examine it and clarify. It is because they are human like me, and it is not being untruthful, gee. So listen with an open heart and mind; understand the view, not merely agree. Speak with love and esteem; do not be blind.
The dizain poetic form is in the French domain. This particular form was a favorite of 15th and 16th century French poets.
Here are the basic rules of the dizain:
- One 10-line stanza
- 10 syllables per line
- Employs the following rhyme scheme: ababbccdcd
