What Does it Mean to Have a Transformed Faith?
A Publication About Bringing God’s Kingdom to Earth
Faith is more than sitting in church on Sundays. It is more than praying to God when we need something. And it is more than a box on a form when the census comes around.
And most people know this. Yet, it seems that many believers limit themselves to these simple expressions of their faith. However, many Christians hunger for something more.
There is a hunger for a deeper faith, a better understanding of our faith, and a desire to see our faith truly change their lives.
This publication and all of the articles in this publication will focus on growing a transformed faith. Not one that is simple and uneventful. But one that is vibrant and growing.
There are three primary scriptures that provide us with the structure of bringing God’s Kingdom to earth, growing our faith, and living by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Transformed by the Renewing of Your Mind
“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God — this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is — his good, pleasing and perfect will.” — Romans 12:1–2 (NIV)
Our faith grows when we disconnect from the ways or culture and society and begin to live differently. When we live differently we grow closer to God so much so that we can know his will. The only way we can do this is by the renewal of our minds.
Renewal of Our Minds
While our spirits are connected to the Spirit of God, our souls help us grow closer to God. However, our souls are complex. There are three major parts to who we are in our souls: Mind, Emotions, and Will.
When we health at a soul level, our mind leads our emotions and directs our wills. When we are unhealthy, we are lead by our emotions, neglect our mind, and our actions are completely dictated by our emotions.
We begin to live differently when we renew our minds on the truth and power of God’s Kingdom. This informs all of our decisions and keeps our emotions in check.
This is why we are called to renew our minds. And we do this through prayer, Christian community, and reading our Bibles.
Manifesting God’s Kingdom on Earth
“Manifest your kingdom realm, and cause your every purpose to be fulfilled on earth, just as it is fulfilled in heaven.” — Matthew 6:10 (TPT)
While we renew our minds on Kingdom matters, we also need to know that our purpose is to bring these Kingdom matters to earth. This is our purpose because Jesus started the entire process.
When Jesus died on the cross, he opened Heaven’s gates to unleash the power of the Holy Spirit here on earth. When God’s Kingdom manifests on earth we begin to see people healed, delivered, and saved from the troubles of the world in our lives.
As we renew our minds. We begin to notice and experience the power of the Holy Spirit and the power of God’s Kingdom in our lives. And in these moments, we need to lean into what we are experiencing.
It is in these experiences that we begin to see our faith transformed.
Even Greater Works
“I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works because I am going to be with the Father.” — John 14:12 (NLT)
The first person we have seen with the full power of the Holy Spirit and God’s Kingdom behind them is Jesus. And Jesus told us that we will have the same Holy Spirit live in us.
Housed in our being is the power that Jesus used to raise Lazarus from the dead, heal people of all kinds of physical injuries, and deliver people from demonic activity.
All of this power is within us when we believe that Jesus died on a cross for our sins and was resurrected in order to bring us into right relationship with God. And as we begin to renew our minds and bring God’s Kingdom to earth, we will begin to unlock this power to do the works of Jesus.
And Jesus told us that we will do what he did and even greater things…
Transformed Faith: Renew, Kingdom, and Great Works
As we begin to live out our faith with a renewed mind, we begin to see the Kingdom of God manifest all around us. And when this begins to happen, we begin to be empowered with the Kingdom through the Holy Spirit and do great works to glorify God and bring the fullness of God’s Kingdom on earth.
It all starts somewhere.
That somewhere is with us.
It starts with us choosing to believe our faith is more powerful and active than what we are experiencing right now. We need to choose to step into it and run with it once God begins to really move in our lives.
As we do this, we begin to experience a transformed faith.
