What does it mean to be Born Again ? #17

The purpose of the new birth

Nowadays when we speak of the new birth, we speak of it as if it was the end goal of human life (especially Christian life). We speak of it as if the purpose for which we were sent here on earth, is to be born again and return to heaven. But if you have read the previous story, I think you now know why we were sent here: to influence the earth, by establishing the culture of heaven here. In other words, the purpose of human life on earth is not to fight to return to heaven, but to influence the earth with the culture of heaven. Going to heaven is therefore not the goal of human life.

After hearing this, you may wonder if going to Heaven is not the purpose, then why do we get born again? I’m glad you asked me this question, and we answer it in this story😊. By the way, if you have read the previous story, you know that in the beginning, man ruled the earth, based on the directives he received from his Creator, because they (man and his Creator) were in perfect harmony and communication in Eden. But when man obeyed a spirit other than his Creator, he created a separation between him and his Creator, and therefore he could no longer receive the directives coming from his Creator, allowing him to rule the earth in order to make it like heaven.

Allow me to give you an example, so that you may understand it well: Let us say that you were sent on a mission by your nation as an ambassador to a foreign country. Once there, you continue to communicate with your government, so that your government can constantly tell you what you need to do to make your mission a success. But one morning you wake up and decide to disobey your government’s orders, and you do what another government asks you to do. As a result, your government considers you a traitor, and withdraws from you, leaving you at your own mercy.

However, your government understands that even though you have disobeyed, you are still a countryman of the nation, and decides to develop a plan, to enable you to re-establish contact with your nation, so that you will still be able to receive the guidance you need, in order to continue and complete your mission successfully. This is exactly what the new birth is all about: it enables us to reconnect with our kingdom so that we may again receive our guidance from our kingdom of origin and stop serving another kingdom, that is not ours.

In other words, we begin to live the reason we were sent to earth on the day of our new birth. When we understand this, we understand that the new birth is not an end in itself (like, we can now wait to go to heaven), but a beginning, because it is at that moment, that we begin to focus on what we came here to do.

Having understood the purpose of being born again, let’s see now what it means to be born again.

What does it mean to be born again ?

One day Jesus was talking with a man named Nicodemus (this man was a leader of the Jews), and the man asked him the question, “How can I be born again? Should I go into my mother’s womb?’’ (1) What this gentleman did not understand, and which even prompted him to ask the question, was that — as we saw in the story Who Am I ? –man is a spirit. In other words, when we say that a man is born again, we mean that his spirit is born again. To say that a body is born again means that it has entered its mother’s womb again — and to say that a soul is born again means that we forget all that we have learned since our birth, since our intellect is in our soul.

(1) Nicodemus said to him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he go into his mother’s womb and be born?’’

Yet we know that when someone is born again, he does not return to his mother’s womb, and his memory is not erased. This is so because the new birth takes place at the level of the spirit. That is why you can be born again, but your body remains the same, and your memory continues to remind you of everything you did before your conversion. By the way, the purpose of being born again is to reconnect man (who is spirit) to God, so that man is able to receive the information he needs to influence the earth to the pattern of heaven.

The new birth is therefore not an end in itself, but the very beginning of life, for it is at this moment that you become able to know what you were sent here for.
