What Does It Feel Like To Shine Bright In The Darkness?

I shine more like the moon with stars.

Have you ever felt like your achievements and victories don’t seem to get noticed by many people? If so, you are not alone. I had done many things at my workplace, yet nobody recognized me and appreciated me for doing so.

Shining bright like the moon can be lonely. Nobody noticed how beautiful the moon at night because most of us are asleep. The word “shine” can be your victories and achievement in life. When you are doing a great job at work, and your boss and co-workers do not appreciate your wondrous works, it can be daunting and feeling like you are not part of the team. Just like the moon in the night sky, not everyone will recognize its brightness, nobody sees how beautiful your works are, but you surpass them all because, for you, it is not the recognition that matters; it’s the good works you do.

Like the moon in the night sky, only a few cherish its beauty, but the moon still shines bright. The moon shines brilliant better at night when only a few people recognized its beauty. Unlike when the sun shines, everyone would notice it, and everyone adores the sunsets and the sunrise.

The moon looks lifeless and dull. I lived in an apartment building on the 8th floor in 2017 until I moved to a townhouse in the same year. At night, I would go to the balcony just to let my thoughts out to the moon. The wind covers me while looking at the lifeless moon, while looking back at me, oh that’s funny!

The moon seems sluggish and does not have a life. But the moon is the only noun that I could look into and tell my secrets that I don’t brutally tell when the sun is out. The moon may look lifeless and dull if you have looked at it for a long time, but the moon knows every secret that has remained in the dark.

Shine like the moon in the cloudless sky with stars. The moon in the night sky is not alone. There are stars that twinkle and brights together with the moon. The stars are like your friends who are with you when you shine. They support you, help you and encourage you to the things you do in life. When you achieve something in life, you don’t have to take it all alone with you; some friends will be there for you and celebrate with you; you have to find the right people to celebrate your successes.

Perhaps you think that you don’t have friends that will support and celebrate victories with you. I know that it can feel apart, but as you can see the moon, the moon has never stopped shining even though just a few of us recognized its beauty. The moon is standing still in the night sky, whether you like it or not and whether it’s murky or cloudless. Sometimes you don’t see the stars with the moon when it’s hazy, but the moon still shines in the darkness.

As an introverted person, I don’t talk casually; I love long conversations with the right people, and I don’t make many friends. I am a shy person, and I don’t usually shine bright like the sun when everyone is awake and can see my victories. I don’t get recognized for the things that I did and the things that helped my workplace grow, but I will continue to do good things because, for me, it is what we do in life that counts and not the stuff we get. It is about what we give and contribute, not the things we have received.

Like the moon in the night sky, the moon may seem lifeless and sluggish, but not everyone will notice its ability to be there, to light some parts of the world.

Final Thoughts:

• Sometimes shining bright in the darkness can be lonely because nobody sees you, but I need you to know that you don’t need people to recognize your work.
• Sometimes appreciating what you do in life alone is enough to continue doing great things in life.
• Shining bright in the darkness like the moon with stars in the cloudless night sky, some friends will support and celebrate achievements with you. You have to find the right people that will celebrate your wins.
• If you think that you don't have friends to celebrate your winnings with you, that is okay. The moon still shines when it’s cloudy, and you barely see the stars.
• Stand still even though nobody is looking at you, just like the moon that shines bright in the darkness.
