What do you say when something wasn’t worth your time and effort? When the activity you prepared for turned out to be totally unproductive or worse?

Years ago, at our monthly networking dinner, a writer friend of mine shared a story of a meeting with a prospective client that was a disaster from start to finish. She ended with, “And I shaved my legs for that!”

More recently, I’ve been in Zoom meetings that I thought were going to be productive but weren’t. My thought: “And I blew my hair dry for that!”

What do you say when you did something that wasn’t worth the effort you put into preparing for it?
