What Color is Your Vote?

RockerFeller.Rocks

Kamala was picked for her gender and her race. Her new boss is one of the biggest racists in the country. And he likes to grope women of all ages. Is this how our country is going to be run from now on?

For the last few months, on every news channel, I’ve heard people talking about getting the Black vote, securing the Latino vote, chasing the white women’s vote. It wasn’t exclusive to Democrats nor Republicans. Everyone wondered who would get the young vote, the old vote, the gay vote, the straight vote.

Why aren’t we all considered the American vote? How did we become the Red or Blue vote? Many people liken it to sports, where everyone is in the same league, but on different teams. But is that true or even fair? America is not a league. Deciding who should be in charge of it should not be a team sport. We are all on the same team, the American team. And we all want the same thing, the American Dream. At least, that’s where it all started.

What happened?

Lincoln gave the Slaves their freedom. Not everyone was thrilled with that. America suddenly wasn’t on the same “side”. Add to that, the Mexican wars we fought to keep (steal) Texas and California, and we have three “sides”. Toss in the American Indians and the Asians, and our melting pot started to boil over.

Jump ahead a hundred years or so, mix in some Arabs, the India Indians, a bunch of Russians, and we have become the United States of Tribalism. The American Team is now very much like the NFL — disjointed, confused. Too many players on too many teams all trying to force their tribe rules on the rest of us.

But these problems aren’t new. We’ve just been such a prosperous nation that we simply never cared, or noticed. With World War One and Two, we were too busy protecting The America Way. Everyone was on the same page, in the same boat. We were all Americans.

Then came The Korean Police Action and people started to worry. We were still Americans and we wanted to believe that we were still protecting our way, but not everyone was fooled. We weren’t fighting Koreans, we were fighting China — Communist China — on Korean soil.

When China tried again, this time in Vietnam, the Boomer Babies were the first to go. And it didn’t take them long to figure out that we should not be there. The split between the country got wider and wider as protestors spit on military people, and hippies closed down schools and government offices. As the World’s Police Force, America was stuck between a communist rock and a capitalist hard place.

Now, every four years or so, we argue about which one we want to be. It’s not an easy choice. No one thinks communism will work. But many people are disenchanted with capitalism. Both systems leave entirely too many people struggling. Unchecked, capitalism allows some people to amass giganterous sums of money while an equal number of people have barely enough to get through the day. Socialism, by definition, gives the government the money and leaves all the people struggling to get through the day.

Is there a happy medium? Is there a way for all citizens, every person, to get enough? Not everyone wants to be rich. But no one wants to be poor. The problem is that for some, being poor is a way of life, an attitude. There really isn’t anything stopping them from making a living. All they need is the will and some drive, you know, a go-get-em attitude. Many many people have proven this for decades. People from all walks of life have hit the American Jackpot. No one has ever done that in a Socialist regime. No matter how much go-get-em you got, you cannot make a living, much less be rich, in a Socialist regime. Unless you work for the government.

No, the answer lies in people getting what they deserve. So, whether you’re the Black vote, or the Brown vote, or the Female vote, or the Latino vote, you do not want to vote for anything that steals from the rich and “promises” to give to the poor. Simple logic and math should be sufficient to convince you. When the rich run out of money to steal, we’ll all be poor. Except the government. When the poor squander any money that may have been “promised” them, they’ll still be poor. The only solution is to allow, teach, encourage, and help people to apply themselves and get what they earn, with no restrictions to how much they can earn.

What happens when some people don’t or won’t do that?

They become the poor vote…
