What are your thoughts before you fall asleep?
They define you as a person
We are all different. Each of us has his or her own perceptions, aspirations, motivations. We live our lives based on our standards, our morals, the influences we receive from the world.
Yet it is during the last moments of our day that those are the most visible. When the day draws to its end.
So, what are your thoughts before you tuck yourself into bed and let Morpheus carry you away?
Gratitude for today
Some of the people out there attempt to summarize their day, relive the experiences they feel were the most crucial and satisfactory, and spare a moment to truly embrace them. They go to bed feeling gratitude for what came their way, for the support they received from their loved ones, and for their most significant achievements. They feel at peace with themselves and the world, a sense of sincere gratitude.
Passion for tomorrow
Others prepare mentally for what is to come. Planning ahead, scheduling their day ahead of them, setting their alarm so that they can start their day according to their goals and aspirations. Right before they drift off, they envision the ideal future: a productive tomorrow, full of success, love, challenges and obstacles to overcome.
Pain and negativity
There are also those who focus on the negative. Whether they lost their job, had a conflict with their significant other, or went through moments of pain and suffering, they fixate their thoughts on the painful past. They try to cope and understand why they go through those experiences. Those people may not even sleep that night…
Giving to the world
And lastly, there are those who reminisce what they contributed to the world the day that they will shortly leave behind. They revisit their offerings to their friends and family, to society, and to the world at large. They take a moment to think whether they gave:
- Love
- Compassion
- Support
- Insight
- Feedback
- Attention
- Knowledge
- Wealth
So, what are the final thoughts before you close your eyes and drift off to sleep?
Just something to consider before going to bed tonight.
Good night!
