What A Fantastic Machine Your Body Is! Stop And Think About It.

This is just another daily thing we don’t think about.

My brain is seventy-two years old. My heart is seventy-two years old. All systems are working well. I have no major medical conditions but should get a scan or two just for good measure. I hope I live out my seventies as most of my brothers and sisters (7) didn’t. I have people that need me so I am going to be there for them.

Mom passed away at eighty-four. She lived the longest. That could have been because she was the meanest or most stubborn of the group. Having eight kids made her strong.

I write, paint, keep house, and worry. Worrying doesn’t really do any “body” any good. You can’t get results when you need it fast by worrying about it.

I’m sure Dr Mehmet Yildiz could give you a complete breakdown of all the systems, but I am not a doctor. I just know how I feel.

I read the AARP magazine and bulletins. This month it is about “Super Agers.” Very interesting stuff.

Norman Lear is one hundred years old. His super-ager philosophy is gratitude. Gratitude may not let you live to one hundred, and some people don’t want to anyway, but as they say, “it couldn’t hurt.” He says, it is the “hour-by-hour feeling of appreciation for the gifts you were born with and have the ability to accumulate.”

Dr. Ruth is ninety-five years old. Her super-ager philosophy is talking a lot. She was sent to Switzerland to an orphanage when she was ten and was kept away from the horrors of the Holocaust. Her parents never returned for her. Talking exercises the brain. She has a love of life as well.

I got off-topic, but the aforementioned is very interesting.

Systems in the Human Body

There are so many systems in the body that depend on each other to keep it healthy. For example, the circulatory and digestive systems work together to deliver nutrients throughout the body. With the exception of the reproductive system, each is necessary for survival.

An organ system is a group of organs that work together in the body to perform a complex function, such as pumping blood or processing and utilizing nutrients. There are 11 major organ systems in the human body:

  • The circulatory system
  • The lymphatic system
  • The respiratory system
  • The integumentary system
  • The endocrine system
  • The gastrointestinal (digestive) system
  • The urinary (excretory) system
  • The musculoskeletal system
  • The nervous system
  • The reproductive system
  • The immune system

Eat well, exercise, and have a good attitude. It goes a long way.
