wet sand

Photo by Daniel Lincoln on Unsplash

i remember you were lost when you found me among the blankets and sheets of my own self pity alone cold almost shivering

it was a way to pass the time at first my hands clutching the skin that outlined your spine your nails digging into my shoulder blades

this wasn’t love

this was companionship

a place to hide from the summer sun

you were ocean tides the salt air taste on my tongue wet sand all over my body

i guess we were both vacationing for a few months enjoying each other

a brief escape from reality burrowing away inside raw passion

well miss, that will always be remembered as a hell of a trip and the memories were worth it

i think you got a t shirt out of it too
