Well Hello There Medium. Charmed I’m sure.
Over the last few months, I’ve read and learned, been inspired and enticed, by what I’ve seen here on Medium. Working a demanding fulltime job means not as many visits to Medium as I’d like, but I do enjoy my time here!
I love to read. As I get old enough for my mailbox to be filled by advertisements about Medicare advantage policies, I enjoy reading more and more. I suppose it was inevitable I’d find my way onto this platform.
My first exposure to Medium came thru Twitter postings by (shameless plug #1) Madison Sasser, whose life story and writings on Twitter alerted me to the world which is Medium. Thanks again Madison!
If you have a young (even childish) mind like mine, it’s easy to forget your aging body has a mind of its own. I had the intent to start writing a generation ago. A few short months ago, I had a couple of sparks of inspiration, and I finally started writing. A full contemporary novel is now at the dawn of the editing process, and I have begun dabbling into short stories (more details to come). And Medium is helping me keep my creative juices flowing. Thank you all!!!
Then (shameless plug #2) Jure Pelicon published a fine first Hello article. It finally got me off the sofa and the Fig Newtons out of my mouth. I realized I had to at least hang a shingle on my Medium doorway. Thanks for the kick Jure!
So, here I am. Hello! I will keep reading, clapping, commenting, and conversing. And listening to what you are saying. I am but a student in this land, and all of you are my teachers.
When the spirit, or the kick to the butt, moves me off the sofa again, I will pass along some thoughts, or comments, or perhaps even a story or two. Hopefully very soon! But I'm keeping my Fig Newtons.

Better Late than Never. Never Give Up.
Thank you for reading Claps, highlights, and comments are always appreciated As I launch my new writing career
