Welcome to Writers’ Haven: A Pub To Share Our Love of the Writers We Love
Who will you write about?
Writers’ Haven is an idea centered around love and sharing gratitude — in writing pieces about the writers in our lives of the Medium community who have reached our hearts with their words.
Has meeting someone here made a difference in your life? Have their words or a specific piece changed how you think or your life in some way?
Let’s thank them and share their words so others can discover how awesome they are.
Basically, this is a place we can gush, and share our love and kindness for the people in this community, in one of the ways we know best, through our words.
Starting a love ripple!
You can write a piece about one specific writer, or multiple writers. But please tell us a little something about why you adore them ;) and why their words resonate with you and who they are to you.
And any form of gratitude is welcome (thank you for the question Jenine "Jeni" Baines.) Artwork, poetry, videos, spoken work narrations, videos of you, or videos of you dancing your thanks! Any form of thanks for another is welcome! 💜 Whatever creative way you’d like to share, please do!
It would be helpful if you added a link of one of your favorite pieces of theirs, if possible. And of course, please add their profile @ handle so we can go check our their cool corners of the internet.
The concept behind this publication is showing appreciation and support for writers we have been inspired by, laugh with, or perhaps have even become a part of our chosen family. Basically, the why behind why you love to read their words. And the who behind the heart.
It is my hope in us writing thank you pieces to writers here, and showcasing some of your favorite pieces of theirs, that we can also discover new writers here through your words of appreciation.
Which can be like finding a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow sometimes, right?! At least for me it is!
There are writers here who have become my sisters, I am beyond grateful for them. Everyday, I am blessed to have their kindness and support. I love you, and you know who you are!
There are writers here who have become great friends and have helped me through some rocky times these past years and have shown me amazing perspectives of life. I love you, too! I hope you all know how much you have continually made my life moments brighter!
I had no idea what Medium would be like when I first started writing here. I had no idea I’d find family. I had no idea if people would even find me to read, or even like it.
This is the first time I have written for the whole internets. I am just so grateful for Medium, in so many ways I cannot even begin to form words for a place such as this. Thank you Medium Staff and Tony Stubblebine for all you do here.
My life has changed, is enlightened everyday, because of this platform, in a way I never even imagined was possible. If I can give back in this way, makes my heart happy to do so!
So if you too have been inspired, changed, encouraged, uplifted, cared for, by a writer here — and you’d like to show your thanks in words, now you have a publication where you can do so.
Words are magic, we all know this — so we write! Today let’s share our love and magic for those who have graciously shared their love and magic with us here on Medium.
Okay, so what do we need here at Writers’ Haven?
I may need another editor besides myself someday. : ) If anyone would like to be! But it’s an easy gig because 🌿There NO editing at Writers’ Haven.
What you submit to Writer’s Haven will be your final draft!!! So become your own editor. You can do it, I have faith in you and your writing and editing skills! We’re human and we make mistakes, so if you made mistakes in your pieces, what you send in will be. And it’s okay to make mistakes, because we learn from them!
You send it in and here’s what goes —
- follows Medium’s guidelines
- has a title
- Green @ handle of the writer you have written a piece about
- header photo (a photo only owned by you please — so get creative, show us a now with a photo of your now and captioned)
- Writers Haven tag
- all your words are with kindness and respect for others

This publication is a place of reverence for others — the guidelines here are only written and spoken words of kindness. Here I will publish pieces that respect ALL beings only.
This also means I will not be publishing pieces that contain any degradation of another human (which includes self deprecating humor, or discompassion to yourself.) This is a publication for sharing kindness to another Medium Writer. Hatred in any form does not belong here.
