When I first started using Medium, I was delighted to find so many interesting articles about Obsidian. However, I found it frustrating to try to find more interesting content using just the search and topics found here on Medium. I thought to myself: there must be an easier way to find good content here on Medium about Obsidian.

For this reason, a number of writers and myself have created this publication we are calling the Obsidian Observer. This publication can be found on Medium at: https://medium.com/obsidian-observer.

Make sure to click on the FOLLOW button on the publication.

This is a Medium publication dedicated to consolidating great articles written about Obsidian published here on Medium into one place.

Objectives

This publication is 100% focused on Obsidian. However, we want the content here to be useful, not just some basic review of things we all already know.

So our goal and hopes are that the articles linked to by this publication will focus on practical ways of using Obsidian in our everyday work and life:

  • how to master plugins
  • how to integrate interesting ideas and workflows into our own processes
  • expression of opinions and thoughts about the future of Obsidian, note-taking, markdown, and local-first

Writers are welcome!

We've noticed that some publications here on Medium make it very difficult for new writers to contribute to their publications. However, we want to make this process very simple. If you write an article on Obsidian, about something that would be useful to others, we hope that you'll consider adding that to our publication.

We welcome new authors who are publishing their first Obsidian article all the way up to those who are experienced, writers.

You Own Your Content

Additionally, please know, as the writer, you will maintain 100% ownership of the content that you submit to be linked to the Obsidian Observer. We will not reuse it, we will not resell it, we simply will include it in the Obsidian Observer as part of a catalog of articles related to Obsidian. You can remove it at any time. You are the boss of your content.

However, we hope that by your publishing on the Obsidian Observer, it will expose you to a large audience of readers that you might otherwise not reach on your own.

Be Friendly, Respectful and Considerate

Of course, we also ask that you be considerate and respectful of others in your writing. Also, note, while you maintain ownership of your content, you are also responsible for the content, so don't say something that will get you in trouble.

Free or Membership Only Content Welcome

Medium gives you a choice to publish your content to be free for all readers, regardless if they are a Medium member or not.

Also as a writer, we leave this up to you. We accept both free content and member-only content.

We believe writers should be rewarded for the investment of time they make into their articles, so don’t be bashful to publish for members only.
