HUMOR
Welcome to Cautionary Tales — the Book of Funny Yet Tragic Stories
All proceeds are going to a men’s mental health charity

A few months back, my friend Ryan and I decided to write a book of blue-collar work stories. Why? To raise money for a men’s mental health charity.
We feel that the working man’s mental state and ability to cope with reality are under siege daily. It doesn’t get enough focus, no one talks about it.
As far as being able to handle emotional trauma, work stress, and all the other problems in life, men traditionally were expected to be:
- Strong
- Silent
- Superman
We need to change the narrative. Obviously, this is unhealthy. It leads to terrible consequences. Families break down, and children suffer. Work performance suffers and jobs get lost. Friendships are impacted.
It leads to poor physical health, loss of relationships, and even worse. We all know a guy who has been through the wringer and is on the edge.
This is why we are supporting the Canadian Centre for Men and Families, and all of the proceeds from our book sales up to Father’s Day, 2022, will be donated to them.
From their website:
“CCMF Alberta is a place where men are treated with compassion and without prejudice or shaming. Our people meet men where they’re at so they feel heard, validated, and can have conversations that matter to them. We encourage men’s agency and offer them tools with which to build better relationships, better lives, and better futures. We offer somewhere to belong. We believe improving men’s mental health makes them better dads, better partners, safer workers, and more engaged contributing members of their communities.”

But What’s In the Book?
I’m glad you asked!
We collected stories from all over, from guys we worked with and conversations overheard. Some were sent to us, like one from Jason Morton.
All the names, locations, and business identities have been changed. Truth was optional during the writing process.
Bursting with tons of hilarious tales inspired by the real-life misadventures of the average joe, Cautionary Tales is a wacky short story collection that’s packed with larger-than-life characters and situations almost too ridiculous to be true! Stupidly shameless, sometimes disgusting, and always side-splittingly funny, these tales raise awareness for men’s mental health as they leave you thinking “these can’t possibly be real”.
Where Can I get a Book?
Another great question!
Here is a link to Amazon, where the book is on sale now.
What Else Could I Do to Help Your Mission?
Do you know what would be a huge help? Go to Amazon and leave us a book review.
We also need to get the word out, so share the news. Put it on Farcebook, TicTak, SnipSnap, or Instablam!
Buy a copy for Father’s Day and send it to your dad. He would love to read it while he’s sitting on the john.
How Do I Know You Are Really Donating the Money?
Here’s what we’re doing to keep this totally transparent. We started a newsletter called (strangely enough) Cautionary Tales. We will be putting some new stories on there, and we will share news on how the fundraiser is going.
There will be a breakdown of money donated and news about the charity.
And, more funny stories.
