Welcome Each Moment and Experience Fewer Worries
Present moment awareness really is all it’s cracked up to be

You can learn from yesterday and plan for tomorrow, but, you’ll only ever discover peace of mind right now.
No doubt, you’ve heard present moment awareness is healthy. Nonetheless, it’s easy to forget it’s beneficial to release unwanted thoughts about the past and future and enjoy each second as it arises.
Here’s why present moment awareness is vital for your mental health.
The past has finished
Yesterday’s events helped shape your personality and beliefs. They had merit, including the way they added to your knowledge and taught you what you did and didn’t want from life.
When you think about problems that no longer exist, though, you revive pain as though they are happening now. Given the chance, old wounds will heal, but they remain open if you prod at them, going over the stress they caused long ago.
The future is unpredictable
You may need to create order in your life and make plans at times. Goals help you improve and offer you purpose and meaning.
Nevertheless, you can’t predict what will happen unless you are psychic, so attempting to work out your future in detail is unhelpful. Even weather experts with up-to-date technology often get forecasts wrong.
Guessing what might happen is often stressful. When you entertain potential problems, your mind races, and anxiety increases.
Continuous stress has a negative impact on your body and psyche. Here in the moment, though, stress is rare, and peace and happiness are accessible.
A sense of ease
When present, you can engage with what happens as it occurs. You can hear, see, and feel more since you give the present your attention.
Your experience is rich and the odds of ease increase compared to when your mind’s stuck in a different time frame.
Focus
When you flow with life, time fades into insignificance and you’re joyful. This pleasant event can only take place when you are present enough for intense focus.
In the moment, you are alert and content. You deal with the circumstances you meet rather than procrastinate and stress doesn’t build.
While it’s natural to consider different time zones — you consider challenges and learn how to handle life when you look behind and in front of you — this moment is where balance, harmony, and the richness of life exist.
Return to the present when anxiety strikes or you want to focus. Your happiness will rise, too, when you are fully here and your worries will dwindle.
