Welcome and Editor’s Picks

Welcoming Neurodiversified’s new writers

Created by author on Canva

Happy Monday!

I am happy to welcome three new writers to our small but growing publication: Lula Maude, Kate Lynch, and Lorrae G.

Lorrae G. brought us a blunt but entertaining story that Autistics, introverts and socially-anxious folks will definitely relate to: “Do You Ignore The Walmart Greeter?”

Lula Maude published five fantastic pieces about discovering her own neurodivergence, bringing unique perspectives as a therapist, a woman, and a mother.

A Letter To My Past Self: a heartfelt letter with advice to a past self — advice that other parents who are neurodivergent will find helpful.

Being Autistic Makes Me A Good Therapist

Qualities of A Good Parent

Taking Off The Mask

Why I Do Not Want an Official Autism Diagnosis

Editor’s Picks

These three compelling and personal stories really spoke to me.

Kate Lynch’s “Learning To Parent My Neurodivergent Kid”

Lula Maude’s “Why I Do Not Want an Official Autism Diagnosis”: An important discussion of the flaws in our current diagnostic system.

Learning I Am Neurodivergent Answered So Many Questions, by Catherine Londero:

We also published a story series with three stories by three different authors on unmasking our neurodivergence in order to discover and be our true, authentic selves.

The act of masking is different for everyone, the stress it takes on people is different for everyone, and the necessity to mask for one’s self-preservation is different for everyone.

As such, I am grateful to our fellow Neurodiversified writers for sharing their stories about masking and unmasking, to help share a diversity of perspectives and experiences:

For more great reads about neurodiversity, parenting, and advocacy, follow Neurodiversified.

We’re always on the lookout for more educational, informative, and well-written articles about ADHD, twice exceptionality, neurodiversity, parenting, advocacy, and education.
