Zoning is zany, man!

Rainbow City, Alabama

This is the original city zoning that piqued my interest. Why is it so complex? Do these borders have any real impact in peoples lives or business? I have no clue, but it’s cool to look at.

Look at the little exclaves (piece of land which is not connected to the larger city zoning boundary) in the north. I really want to know what’s going on in there.
