Summary

The website content provides a list of creative writing prompts for the week of April 2–8, 2022, designed to inspire a diverse writing community.

Abstract

The webpage presents a collection of innovative writing prompts for the first full week of April 2022. Christine Graves, the author of the prompts, expresses gratitude to the writing community for their creativity, which she finds inspiring. The prompts include a mix of new and recurring categories such as "Poetic Vision," "Say What?" "Random Sentences," "Most Wanted," "Parts Unknown," "How-To's," "Sci-Fi," and "S.I.L.O." Each prompt is crafted to challenge writers and stimulate their imagination across various genres and scenarios. Graves acknowledges the experimental nature of the prompts, particularly the sci-fi category, which is outside her comfort zone. She encourages writers to tag her and Ravyne Hawke if they use the prompts and to explore the "Publishiousness" section for additional ideas from other contributors.

Well, here we are, kids. We’ve made it to the first full week of April. I want to say thank you to everyone out there. You all make me so proud. Watching the way your creative minds work is the best part of my day. It’s amazing just how diverse we are as a writing community.

As usual, I’ve changed up the list for the new month. I only kept two categories from previous months, and I may have inadvertently brought back one from the past. Poetic Visions and These Three Things always have such a major impact, I just can’t part with those. And I’m rehashing Scenarios.

The rest of the categories are new ideas. As always, some might be way cool and others might just plain suck. Either way, someone’s going to notice it. Here’s what I’ve come up with for this month:

Say What? This is just going to be some dialogue for you to work from.

Random Sentences That’s all. Just a random sentence. It might be a storyline, an odd question, or whatever else wanders into my brain.

Most Wanted I’ll give you some specs on a villain, you tell me the rest of their story.

Parts Unknown I’ll give you the location, you tell us where it’s at

How-To’s Give a step-by-step description of how to complete this idea

Sci-Fi Let’s go to the ends of the galaxy and back again.

S.I.L.O. I’ll give you a Sound, an Item, a Location, and an Observation. You take it from there.

As you can see, I really shook things up this time. I may have either outdone myself or shot myself in the foot. Not really sure at this point. I have to admit, the Sci-Fi one is completely out of my wheelhouse. This is not my strongest suit, but I know some out there absolutely rock this genre.

I hope you all find something wonderful to spark your imaginations. Now get out there and have some fun. Authors and Poets, without further ado, here are your weekly writing prompts.

And there you have it, my friends. Once again, I’m getting this together at the last minute. I hope you all enjoy this month’s categories and this week’s prompts. Sometimes, even I question the things that run through my brain.

Remember, if you write something from one of these prompts, tag me (@sapheyerblu) so I can come by and read, clap, and comment. If you publish something outside of PW, be sure to tag both me and Ravyne Hawke so she can see what you’ve written as well. Also, please leave a link back to this post.

Also, be sure to check out our Publishiousness section to find new prompts from Ravyne, Marcus aka Gregory Maidman, Rose Malana, and me. There are a ton of ideas you can work from throughout the week. And you can always go back and work from previous prompts in our archives.

I hope you all find something to write about this week and I hope you have fun doing it. Thank you all again for making this so much fun for me. You guys rock.

Until next week, Happy Writing!!!!
