Centina Prompt: Reveal a Secret
Write a 100-word story in which your main character reveals a secret to their significant other

Everyone has secrets.
For this week’s 100-word centina, write a story about something a person’s spouse or significant other didn’t know about them…until now.
Perhaps your main character is a spy, an alien, time traveler, or a direct descendant of Cleopatra. You may have been a bank robber in your distant past or you robbed a bank last week. You could be working twelve hours a day as a construction worker, but be worth a half billion dollars. Maybe what you haven’t told your spouse is that, oops, you forgot to get divorced before you married them.
The surprise reveal can be bold and splashy, or it can be more ordinary, like your character had once been in an X-rated film or you secretly take anti-anxiety medicine.
The possible surprises are endless, but what we’re most interested in is how the characters behave. Show us what they say, how they react, and how they feel. Get inside your characters’ heads. What would you do if you discovered your husband, wife, boyfriend, or girlfriend was a criminal or royalty? What would you say if your partner suddenly admitted, “I wish I could have married my college sweetheart?” or “I lied. I never graduated high school.”
As always, have fun writing your story.
