Weekend Prompt: “Before Self-Love Becomes a Liberation, It is First a Burden”
29–30 of May

Well, hello! Happy weekend 🥳
I know I was supposed to take the entire week off from releasing prompts, but I couldn’t help not throwing one at you when you least expect it. Sorry…not sorry?
There’s anger, there’s grief, there’s loneliness and isolation — they all come with new boundary lines and the word “no”. But then there’s self-love and somehow…it doesn’t matter anymore that the process leading to it wasn’t all flowers and bathubs.
It’s okay if self-love is a burden before it becomes a liberation. It’s normal. Natural. Understandable. It takes time to develop a flourishing relationship with yourself after being taught to dislike yourself for years and years — give yourself time and space.
In what ways is self-love a burden, though?
And, more importantly, in what ways is it a liberation?
Reflect, reflect, reflect.
I am looking forward to everyone’s submissions! (God, it was hard not saying this for 5 days). Cheers🌸
