Scout Life is a print magazine with 10 yearly issues. It is a general interest magazine published by the Boy Scouts of America. It has a circulation of 1 million.
Nonfiction: Features pay $1.00 per word and should be between 500–1,200 words in length. They are open to many different topics for features. This is a general interest magazine for children (boys and girls) between 5 and 17 years old. They, of course, print articles about camping and the skills required, but they will also print anything that could have a broad appeal, such as history, sports, entertainment, cars, nature, health, and more.
Columns: Scout Life also prints several columns. These columns are up to 600 words, and payment is $100.00–600.00. These departments cover aviation, cars, computes, space, sports, health, science, nature, computers, pets, music, entertainment, and history.

National Geographic Travel has a circulation of almost 10 million. They are looking for expert reporters and storytelling. The travel guidelines are at the very bottom of the guidelines page.
Nonfiction: National Geographic Travel is looking for timely and relevant travel articles that appeal to a broad audience. This would include articles about travel trends & destinations; and looking at traveling through typical National Geographic topics such as culture, science, history, wildlife, and community.
They are also interested in planning articles, family-appropriate trips, sustainable travel stories, national parks, iconic places, and culture stories.
They do not list their payment online, but it has been reported as $0.50 a word — so for a 1,000-word article, that would be $500.00.
African American Career World
