Weasel, It’s Time to Take Your Mask Off!

A chain of five fun nonets

‘Weasel’ — original artwork by my illustrator, Olivia York (artwork and license owned by writer)

Weasel on My Wall is the title of my first children’s picture book, timed to launch in twenty-twenty till covid messed things up “I’m hibernating, where’s my face mask?” Weasel quipped. “Wake me when it’s safe.” “What the hell!” I protested, “What am I to do?” “Go write on Medium,” Weasel answered with a yawn. “Blogging is better than you think, besides, you should practice poetry!” “What the hell! I exclaimed once more, “I’m not a flippin’ poet, I write stories for kids.” Weasel stared at me, and then he blinked “Whatever,” he said, “But, You’ll see I am right. Now go away, and leave me alone, Weasels need their snoozles!” He snuggled into his frame. Who knew weasels could sleep so long?! It’s been almost two years since that day He’s just now beginning to stir so I write nonets ‘bout him which only serves to prove that he was correct in what he said; Medium’s taught me well!

To be honest, covid is only one of the reasons why my weasel book is still in production. With one thing or another, the timing wasn’t right.

But when is the right time to publish your first children’s book?

Put it this way, I’m not getting any younger — and neither is Weasel! — so it’s time for both of us to unmask and get on with it! 😅

To be honest for a second time, this is the first nonet chain I’ve had published.

Let me try that again. This is my first published nonet — chained or otherwise.

And still being honest — it was fun! 😃
