We Were Afraid of Heights
Writing Prompt — On the Road to Spring

fall of fourteen at the feet of tour eiffel we said we didn't want to but they made us go and we both shook as you held me in your arms we were afraid of heights and perhaps something more
built in eighteen-eighty-nine you told me it wasn’t made to last i said i didn’t need to know but i wonder are you still in london, in love with a girl?
winter of 'twenty-three in two days i’ll be thirty-two i’m happily married, seen the world a little more and i still remember your birthday two weeks after me
twentieth of march, the beginning of spring flowers bloom and petals fall i loved you for five summers you told me it wasn’t made to last
This poem was inspired by the writing prompt “On the Road to Spring”. The deadline for submission is on the 20th of March, the first day of spring, and the birthday of the love of my youth. Head over to Scribe to learn more (about the prompt)!
