We Need New Tags for Commenters
#Heartless, #Random, #Sociopath

Dear Medium,
I think we need some new tags for use with commenters. I know we are supposed to be exchanging ideas in a civil manner and most people actually do a pretty good job with that, but some people don’t seem to merit actually “using your words.” This applies in particular to men who hate read women’s recounting of abusive or otherwise traumatic experiences and then leave snarky comments, but it would no doubt apply in a wide variety of situations. I think in these instances, a simple Tag that conveys what you’d like to say to them would be much more efficient than wasting time writing it out in a couple of sentences explaining to them why they are being rude or cruel.
I propose that these tags be made available next to the place for Claps in the comments. If someone makes a mean or aggressive comment, we ought to have a succinct way of letting them know that’s what we think. This would save a lot of time while still pointing out to a-holes that they are being an #A$$hole.
I’m sure there are more tags that I haven’t yet thought of. Perhaps readers can make some more suggestions? I think this could really take off and be a great new innovation for Medium. What do you say? #Hoping
