We Need More of This. I Sure Did.

Here’s what is in my neighborhood.

A child or children made this box.

I found it in the late afternoon sun, right around the corner from my house.

A fellow walker and his daughter told me about this, so I had to find it.

I ran home, wrote a letter, put it in a ziplock bag and left it in the box only to find this inside:

If this doesn’t tell you that we owe the next generation a better world, kindly see this, which I found on my afternoon walk:

I had to follow it so here we go…….

I got a little dizzy but finally….

But that wasn’t the end of it… there’s more….

And if that wasn’t enough, here you go:

From my neighborhood’s children, to all of you.

I learned tonight that my entire neighborhood comes out at 8:00 pm (I am staying up for this) to stand on their front steps and applaud the world’s health care workers.

If this doesn’t put light and love in your heart, I’m not sure what will.

This is the letter I put in the box:

To All Our doctors, nurses, EMTs and First Responders

We love you,

We pray for you

We stand with you

And we cry with you.

Every night this neighborhood stands outside at 8 pm and applauds you, with gratitude in our hearts

And prayers for you rest, hope, and safe passage home to your loved ones.

We owe you a debt we may never be able to pay.
